On Air on Sunday Plus update

Hello All,
Well, first of all, revolution may be a misappropriation of a word. But breaking the rule is the first step to great writing. So here we go!

I haven't sent a message to all members of Open Air Theatre in a while - and I do it less often because I think it is annoying when it comes every second.
Open Air Theatre is is live on Radio Univers 105.7 fm on Sundays at 5 to 6.30 p.m. So if you would like to be on the show, just send us an e-mail of two of your poems plus your contact details to openairtheatre@yahoo.com
You can visit our facebook page by typing Open Air Theatre for the latest info on the literary scene in Ghana, just in case you missed the updates on the show. Or you can keep coming back here, too.

WHAT IS NEW?
1. The Writers' Project on Citi 97.3 fm happens every Sunday at 8.30 to 9.30 p.m. so tune in also. The poevolution is taking place and spreading like wild fire.
So credit to the team.

2. I might be stepping down as host of Open Air Theatre soon. Those of you who have noticed, Delali Kumapley, the first lady to ever be a full host of the show has been sitting in on the show for the past 2 editions. So, I hope she anchors it well enough and improves upon it. I will be around to offer assistance when needed.

3. The EHALAKASA Poetry Talk Party Still Happens every fortnight at the Nubuke Foundation on Sundays. The next one is 15 August, 2010. The shows features poets who just express themselves. So be there!

4. Tune in on Sunday and tell a friend to tell a friend to tune in into both shows.

Sunday's Show and News of Departure

It's been another great Sunday for us at Open Air Theatre. We hope you enjoyed today's show to the max. If the texts we received are anything to go by, then you really got into the show today in a special way.

Tonight, the EHALAKASA--a group of poets gathering to do their own thing--Poetry Talk Party gets underway at the Nubuke Foundation, 7 Adamafio East Legon in Accra. The Poetry Talk Party happens every fortnight on Sunday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and even later.
Another poetry event to watch out for on Sundays aside Open Air Theatre on Radio Univers 105.7 fm is the Writers Project on Citi 97.3 fm from 8.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m.

News: I am planning on leaving the show on Univers as host/producer. The new substantive host will be Delali Kumapley. She has already started trying out the show as she did today. She is a good presenter and lover of the literary world as well. I hope she brings some freshness to the show.

So from me, Nana Yaw Sarpong, and the rest of the production team have a great Poetry-week. See you on Sunday.

Update on the Weekend

Hello Everyone,

The pat weekend was great for poetry and writing in Ghana and of course, your only literary running on radio was live again on Radio Univers 105.7 fm. We will be back on air again come Sunday at 5 p.m. so do not miss it. You ca also send us your poems via e-mail to openairtheatre@yahoo.com. But meanwhile, here is some update on the poetry workshop by the Writers' Project of Ghana.

The Writers' Project of Ghana, over the weekend, rolled out yet another of its series of workshops for writers in Ghana--this time dubbed 'A Day and Half Poetry Marathon.' Last weekend's edition is the third of its kind this year and focused on writing freely without any inhibitions as far as poetry is concerned.

The workshop saw to many participants producing materials instantly at the workshop on the first day. The second day focused, however, on peer critiquing of one work produced by each participants with Dr. Mawuli Adzei, a writer and lecturer at the University of Ghana English Department, steering affairs.
The project aims to improve the skills of writers, beginners, amateurs and 'already-made' writers.

Cheers!

Hello People!!

A few updates on what is happening on the literary scene here in Ghana (and of course your favourite show is involved once again directly). The Ghana Writers' Project is set to roll out another Poetry workshop right here in Accra.

Unlike last month's edition--as a refresher, in case you missed those two workshops, 2 workshops were organised on fiction writing and poetry--this one is supposed to be a Marathon
